The Still Pure essential oil bundle is a combination of the 8 most widely used essential oils for use in various applications. The essential oils are all 100% natural made from plant extracts.

Different uses for the specific oils:

Lavender:

Main Qualities:

Antibacterial, antidepressant, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antiviral, deodorant, insect repellent.

Helps to:

Relieve pain, stimulate new cell growth, encourage fluid loss by promoting urination, stimulate menstruation, lower blood pressure, boost the immune system, increase sweating , strengthen and relax the nervous system, tone muscles, generally calms emotions and can induce sleep.

Can Benefit:

Acne, all skin types, athlete’s foot, boils, burns, bruises, cuts, eczema, grazes, inflamed skin, insect stings and bites, itching, minor wounds, psoriasis, rashes (nappy), ringworm, scalds, scars, sores, sunburn, stretch marks, ulcers  ♦  anxiety, depression, hysteria, insomnia, nervous tension, stress-related ailments  ♦  arthritis, aches & pains (muscles), cramp, gout, sciatica, sprains  ♦  asthma, bronchitis, colds coughs (tickly), croup, flu, laryngitis, sinusitis, sore throats, whooping cough  ♦  cellulite, constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, gall bladder problems, indigestion, nausea, tummy ache  ♦  dandruff, head lice  ♦  earache, headache, migraine  ♦  engorged breasts, labour pain, leucorrhoea, period pain, premenstrual syndrome, thrush  ♦  urinary tract infections.

Warnings:

Probably the only oil that can safely be used neat (in very small amounts) and during pregnancy – HOWEVER, as Lavender promotes menstruation, it must be avoided in early pregnancy if there is a history or serious risk of miscarriage

Lemon Grass:

Main Qualities:

Analgesic, antidepressant, antimicrobial, anti-oxidant, antipyretic, antiseptic, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, deodorant, febrifuge (cools high body temperature), fungicidal, galactagogue (increases secretion of milk), insecticidal, nervine (reduces nervous disorders), sedative (nervous), tonic.

Can Benefit:

Acne, athlete’s foot, excessive perspiration, insect repellent (fleas, lice, ticks), open pores, pediculosis, scabies, tissue toner  ♦ Muscular pain, poor circulation and muscle tone, slack tissue  ♦  colitis, indigestion, gastroenteritis  ♦  fevers, infectious disease  ♦ headaches, nervous exhaustion and stress-related conditions.

How to Use:

Bath, compress, insect repellent, massage, room fragrancer, skin-care preparations, steam inhalation, essential oil diffuser

Warnings:

A rather harsh essential oil and could irritate sensitive skins.  Low dosage is best.

Eucalyptus:

Main Qualities:

Antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral, decongestant, deodorant, expectorant, insect repellent.

Arthritis, muscular aches and pains, sprains ♦ Asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, chest infections, colds, coughs, flu, sinusitis ♦ boils, chilblains, cold sores, shingles, skin infections, skin ulcers, wounds ♦ chickenpox, fever♦ diarrhoea ♦ high blood sugar ♦ low blood pressure, poor circulation.

How to Use:

Bath, compress, insect repellent, massage, room fragrancer, steam inhalation, essential oil diffuser.

Warnings:

Not suitable for babies or young children.  May be skin irritant, use in low dosages (1% in massage oil & 3 drops in bath).  Use moderately & with care. N.B.  If taken internally it is toxic & has proved fatal – keep out of children’s reach.

Peppermint:

Main Qualities:

Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiphlogistic (reduces inflammation), antipruritic (prevents itching), antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, astringent, carminative, cephalic (stimulates & clears the mind), cholagogue (increases bile production), cordial (heart tonic), emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge, hepatic (stimulates liver & gall-bladder function), nervine, stomachic (relieves gastric disorders), sudorific (increases perspiration), vasoconstrictor (contraction of blood vessel walls), vermifuge.

Can Benefit:

Acne, dermatitis, ringworm, scabies, toothache  ♦  neuralgia, muscular pain, palpitations  ♦  asthma, bronchitis, halitosis, sinusitis, spasmodic cough (“When inhaled in steam it checks catarrh temporarily, & will provide relief from head colds & bronchitis; its antispasmodic actions combines well with this to make it a most useful inhalation in asthma.”)  ♦  colic, cramp, dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea  ♦  colds, fever, ‘flu,   ♦  fainting, headache, mental fatigue, migraine, nervous stress, vertigo.

Warnings:

Peppermint is a skin irritant so use in low dilution only – 1% in a local massage oil or 3 drops in a bath.  Not suitable in pregnancy, for babies or young children.

Sweet Orange:

Main Qualities:

Antibacterial, antidepressant, antifungal, antiseptic, antispasmodic, detoxifying.  Helps to expel gas; stimulate fluid loss by promoting urination; lower blood pressure; strengthen the stomach and digestion; sedate the nervous system; generally uplifting and refreshing yet calming on an emotional level – quells the proverbial butterflies.

Can Benefit:

Acne, congested and oily skin, gum and mouth infections, tones all skin types ♦ anxiety, depression, insomnia, nervous tension, stress-related disorders ♦ bronchitis, chills, colds, coughs, flu ♦ cellulite ♦ constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, indigestion, nausea, spasmodic pain.

Warnings:

Prolonged use and high dosage may irritate sensitive skin.  Do not use orange oil on skin which is to be exposed to the sun or ultraviolet light as it is phototoxic (it can cause skin discolouration).

Tea Tree:

Anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal, balsamic (healing, soothing & softening phlegm), cicatrisant (helping formation of scar tissue), diaphoretic, expectorant, fungicidal, immune-stimulant, parasiticide, vulnerary.  “Generally a remarkable healing oil.

Can Benefit:

Abscess, acne, athlete’s foot, blisters, burns, cold sores, dandruff, herpes, insect bites, oily skin, nappy rash, ring worm, spots, veruccae, warts, wounds (infected)  ♦  asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, coughs, sinusitis, tuberculosis, whooping cough  ♦  thrush, vaginitis, cystitis, pruritis  ♦  colds, fever, ‘flu, infectious illnesses such as chickenpox.

How to Use:

Bath, compress, gargle, hair care, massage, mouthwash, neat (1 drop only), room fragrancer, skin-care preparations, steam inhalation, essential oil diffuser.

Warnings:

Small amounts of neat oil can be used, but it is recommended that a skin patch test be carried out first to check for skin irritation or allergic reaction.

Rosemary:
